In May 2017, Andrew joined a fellow band of intrepid wayfarers to tackle some of the most challenging sections of the Great Wall of China. Andrew writes about this once-in-a-lifetime experience in his very personal, heartfelt blog.
On Friday 20th January 2017, Victus hosted a fundraising ceilidh at Milnathort Town Hall, featuring Steven Carcary, award-winning musician, and his ceilidh band. The event was a huge success, with over £1,500 being raised for HIT Scotland through ticket sales, a raffle, a silent auction and envelope prizes.
Andrew also mustered up a huge amount of support by asking (accosting!) some well-known faces to help put together a fundraising video – a tactic that caught the attention and admiration of the national press and helped make the video go viral.
Andrew’s efforts are ongoing through his MyDonate page.
Andrew personally raised a total of £2.2k of an impressive group total of £45k, helping secure fantastic training, work experience and placement opportunities for the next generation of tourism and hospitality professionals.
